Game Reserves around Port Alfred

Port Alfred is a fabulous town for family getaways. Ideally situated in the Sunshine Coast, we have everything you could desire from river cruises to blue flag beaches, game reserves to shopping malls. Plus with a new cinema, you’ll even have something to do on the rainy days.
The game reserves in the area are aplenty! Here are our top two:

SIBUYA
Thought by some to be one of South Africa's most beautiful private game reserves, Sibuya covers more than 3000 hectares of varied terrain and vegetation. From the moderately open river plains, through the pristine Lower Albany Thicket, there are also patches of Cape Fynbos and a windswept, grassy plateau favoured by many of the larger grazing animals. Sibuya supports one of the highest densities of wildlife in South Africa ensuring an intensive and varied game-viewing experience in spectacular surroundings

BUCKLANDS
This Private Game Reserve consists of five thousand five hundred hectares, and includes the properties known as Bucklands, Lower Bucklands and Schrikwaters Poort. The Bucklands Private Game Reserve is situated adjacent to The Great Fish River Nature Reserve (comprised of the Andries Vosloo Kudu Reserve, the Double Drift Nature Reserve and the Sam Knott Nature Reserve, totalling approximately 45,000 hectares in extent) and the Great Fish River bordering Bucklands Private Game Reserve. The hilly topography and dense thickets, interspersed with mosaics of grass, bush and abundant wildlife is very diverse with stunning nature scenes from the many vantage points whilst encompassing both Closed and Open Great Fish Thicket, Grassy Bontveld, Karroid Scrub, Disturbed Savanna and Riverine Thicket's which support the tremendously rich array of plant and animal life, many endemic to the area.

May we suggest the game drives and bird watching trips which educate young and old on the natural environments of South Africa?

Why not come for a visit this month of August, we have a terrific special of only R950 for 2, per night (includes 4 star accommodation, breakfast and a R200 dinner voucher at the Lily Restaurant).

We’d love to help you arrange the perfect family trip, see you soon!
