Minimum requirements
1.
A Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent in working experience and short
courses.
2.
5 years experience in senior management in a hospitality environment.
3.
Excellent leader who can achieve ambitious
targets whilst creating a supportive learning
environment for Stenden students.
Role Summary
Oversees all aspects of property management in accordance with
Stenden South Africa strategy, including maximisation of financial performance,
guest satisfaction, student satisfaction and staff development within established quality standards.
Responsibilities
1.
Performs the role of company custodian, ensuring that the “Culture of Excellence” is communicated,
understood, achieved and maintained by hotel staff.
2.
Ensures that Stenden Hotel Standard Operating
Procedures are executed on a daily basis.
3.
Creates a learning environment that assures consistent
learning outcomes and student and staff satisfaction.
4.
Creates an
operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction.
5.
Monitors the performance of the hotel through a balanced
scorecard, by analysis of guest satisfaction and financial reports, innovation
endeavors and internal workings. Initiates corrective action where necessary.
Develops accurate and
aggressive long and short-‐range financial objectives consistent with the Stenden strategy.
7. Prepares monthly
reports for management that clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends and
variances.
8. Establishes and
maintains a proactive human resource function to ensure employee
motivation, training and development, wage and benefits
administration, and compliance with established labour regulations.
9. Executes marketing,
sales, and revenue management, producing
results that meet or exceed the hotel’s business plan.
10. Ensures good safety
practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency
and security procedures.
11. Establishes and maintains applicable preventive maintenance
programs to ensure the physical infrastructure of the hotel reflect the ambitions of Stenden.
12. Ensure the hotel
is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations,
and requirements of and federal, state or municipal authority.
