The Boat Races!
Every year in September, Port Alfred plays host to the Boat Races. An event that brings in university students and their families for a fun filled week. The races take place over 4 days. It's intense, it's exciting and it only happens here, in Port Alfred... Who will the winner be this year? Come and join us along the banks of the Kowie River to find out.

If you are unfamiliar with the area, we have 2 malls, one in town (Heritage Mall) and one just out of town (Rosehill Mall), where you will find everything you need for your weekend stay. You will most probably be spending most of your time besides the river, so why not come to MyPond Hotel (van der Riet Street) and enjoy a meal (burger or kebab, anyone?) and beers while watching the races. We are situated beside the Kowie River and have the best seats in town.
